A mother of three, an aunt to two, a wife, a principal, Dana Phelps. My mom is a strong, hard working, supportive person with an outgoing, selfless personality. She would stop in her tracks to help anyone out, and that is why I look up to her. My mom is someone that always has the clothes cleaned and folded, always makes sure everyone has their homework done, and always makes sure everyone is where they needed to be. She is always there on ringside watching me and my siblings show animals, and always coming home from work asking “how was school today?” or “what did you do at school?”. Even though I can be moody sometimes, she always finds a way to put up with me. One day, I wish to have patients and selflessness just like her. Work is very important to her. She is always working over time, making sure everything is done correctly and ahead of time. She stays on top of everything, and is one of the most organized people I know. With a busy schedule, she always makes time for family. She taught me that family is everything. Whether it is watching a movie, going on a bike ride, going out to ice cream, playing cards, eating dinner at the dinner table, going fishing or making cookies, she always finds time to put family first. My mom has also taught me to always be the best version of myself and to never be afraid of failure. At the end of the day she always tells me to never get worked up when things are out of my hands. She always knows how to cheer me up, whether it be tickling me, staring at me until I smile, giving me constant hugs, or scratching my back. She is always there for me and my family, and would sacrifice anything for my family. I have seen her and my family go through tough challenges, and all I can say is, she is the strongest mother I know. A lot of people say I look just like my mom. However, one of these days, I wish to be as strong, supportive and hard working as her. To my sweet, loving mom, thank you for being my role model, and thank you for being my mom!
