“When we’re afraid, we have a tendency to pray and ask God for peace before we’ll step out and do what frightens us. But most of the time, we simply need to move forward.” ― Sadie Robertson,
Sadie Robertson, a Christian idol, mentions,“When we’re afraid, we have a tendency to pray and ask God for peace before we’ll step out and do what frightens us.” This part sticks out to me because it relates to my theme for this year, to live more, worry less. We have the tendency to hide back behind God or our shield to be safe and eventually never really live. We find ourselves always asking for approval and never really living the life we want to live. In the next part of her quote she says, “but most of the time, we simply need to move forward.” Moving forward is our breaking point in life, it is the part of life where you can cut those heavy weights off , and run. Once we quit hiding behind everyone, waiting for approval, we have the potential to live the life we were meant to live.
Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Psalm 25:4
This verse has always stuck out to me because we can all relate to it. Whenever we feel lost or confused in our own path of life we have a tendency to break down, to think negatively, and to give up. In this verse it says, “show me your ways lord.” Meaning to stop in your path and pay attention to God. Pay attention and see what he is trying to say to you. Instead of breaking down or giving up, pay attention to God, and he will teach you your path of life. God has a plan for you, but it is up to you to listen to him.
Everyday is a new day, a new opportunity, a new change.
We have the tendency to forget that waking up every morning is something we take for granted. We forget that one day we may not wake up to enjoy the fresh air or wake up and say good morning to your loved ones. We need to start making new habits when we wake up. We need to wake up every morning with a purpose. We need to set a goal we would like to accomplish throughout the day. We have the ability to create new opportunities and new changes. Wake up everyday with a purpose and be grateful to be awake.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. Ecclesiastes 3:1
Timing determines your future. Seasons determine your life. Timing is everything. Trust God and things will happen on their own time. I find myself worrying too much about not finding my soulmate, not having a successful life, or most importantly, sorrowing over when someone is going to die. When in reality, God has a plan for everything, and his timing is always right. This verse says that, You can't just plant a seed and harvest at the time. There is a season which is appropriate to plant a seed and a season to harvest. Meaning, you cannot force timing, you must have trust that things will come at the right time.
