This year has been a challenge; facing covid and online learning, limiting the ASB classroom to creating events and preventing us from having a normal school year. Although it was hard to get close with each classmate, we strived for bonding activities. Some ways we got to know each other were group face times, playing Among Us after class, online corecamp, debriefs, and class periods where we are able to walk around and get to know each other. A challenge we faced this year was voting accurately for awards in the class, and homecoming coronation. This was difficult because as a class we were so distant from each other because we were online for half/ of the school year. A change for next year would be getting closer with the class. Although we made the effort this year, adjusting new activities could help our bond become even stronger. As senior class president I plan to have swim parties, and bonfires at my house to bond with our team before school even starts. More bonding will help our class make long lasting memories, help events run smoothly, and improve communication and collaboration. Another challenge we faced this year was lack of mental health. During a pandemic we were caught up in the what ifs, and once we got to in person everything felt like a chore. It was no longer the desire to complete an assignment, it was a deadline we could not miss. The lack of motivation and rush once school started in person brought more stress, and made me have no desire to finish my work. An improvement and change we could make, and something I look forward to doing is a fresh start. Next year will provide a fresh start for new activities and better bonding activities.
