“You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”-John 13:7
This is my favorite quote from the Bible because it gives me hope. This verse has brought me closer to God, and has always been my reminder to believe in and to trust the process. Everything happens for a reason. This verse lifts so much weight off of my shoulders, allowing me to put all of my faith in God.
“Just because we are waiting, does not mean that God isn’t working. He is preparing us for our purpose” - Sadie Robertson
In life we often hear, “just wait” “it’ll come eventually” and “it will all plan out” but we often start to lose hope while waiting. As time passes we start to doubt our future, and wonder if it is really worth it. This quote opened my eyes to visoning life from a different perspective. This quote reminds me of an audience waiting for a show to start. What they don’t see is the preparation it took before the show, and what is going on behind the curtain before it starts. But, what they do see is the curtains opening, as the show begins to unfold, tying all of the scenes together, with a happy ending. We all have a purpose, but some may take longer to unfold than others. God is always the one working behind the scenes, making sure everything happens at the right time.
“Please don’t ever get tired of being a good person with a good heart. I know, it sucks being taken advantage of and feeling like it's better to be cold hearted, but people like you matter and are so important for this world.”
Being a student in leadership, as well as a well rounded person, I tend to get used, taken advantage of, and end up putting too much effort into people, receiving nothing in return. With so much energy taken out of me by being a good person, with a good heart, I question myself if it is worth it. After being the one that is always left hurt, I ask myself, is it easier to just be the person to hurt someone else? To be a cold hearted person. What this quote made me realize though, is that people like me, those who care, the ones with the good heart, are always there for the people that need it the most. Making a change by putting a smile on someone's face, or being that one phone call away before a life changing decision, those are the people that are important to this world. Those are the people that save lives. In the grand scheme of things, what is more important, hurting someone else to make you feel better, or being that person that can go to bed each night, knowing that you may have saved that person's life that night?
