This year will mark my third and final year in leadership, which allowed me to work on my interviewing process, running events, building connections inside and outside of leadership, meeting deadlines, building great communication skills and becoming more confident in my public speaking as well as in myself. The interview process made me feel more confident, and aware of what it is like in an actual interview setting. Learning the key details of what employees look at in a qualified applicant helped me during my professional mock interview with a veterinarian, and pharmacist in 2021. After a long interviewing process of a panel of 2 individuals, I was told I was very confident, relaxed, poised, and made great eye contact the whole time, scoring a 100% on my mock interview, as well as landing me a summer job being a nanny for their two children, as well as having the opportunity to do a ride along with the veterinarian. After that mock interview I have had many interviews which have landed me a job at the Ripon Veterinary Clinic, and becoming a leader for 6th grade science camp this year. These skills lead up to displaying a professional manner when needed, and may also lead to getting myself a job beyond high school. Developing great communication skills has also been part of the program. Whether it is setting up an interview with a professional, planning events, or being open during debriefs, and asb meetings, we are all communicating. Ways that I find that are easy to communicate are through group chats, class meetings, email, text, or setting up meetings face to face. Communication can help build teamwork, become more transparent with your team, and also help push out information with others around you. Without communication events would not run as smoothly, deadlines would be missed, and there would be little to no team.
