This year, my third and final year. My year was fulfilled with accomplishments, growth, goals, connections, as well as stress, tears, and some eye rolls at times. I am glad to end my years in leadership with so many accomplishments and to who I have become as a person. From being awarded homecoming queen 2021, to seniors winning homecoming and winterfest overall, to planning a successful winterfest and Gallery of the Arts I am now taking the last and final steps to planning our senior gift. These past few years have flown by. Some highlights and aspects that I loved and appreciated this year was our drive and passion to build up this program after years of COVID. Each and every student was in this program to make a difference, to voice their opinions, and to be the change on campus. As each student got to know each other this year I had realized how bright and intelligent our class was. I appreciated how there were so many vass talents we had in the classroom that nobody would have known unless our class hadn’t created such strong bonds in the beginning of the year. Our freshmen were so artistic and educated, our sophomores were full of energy and determination, our juniors were opinionated and ready for every challenge thrown their way, and our seniors had the passion to live out their final years in this program. As I am sitting through my final days in this class, I wonder what could have been different this year? What could change to make the program even more successful? Something that stuck out to me was yet having a class so determined to build the program up, yet so little motivation to create competitions or decorations for homecoming and winterfest. In years in the past we have experienced hundreds of hours on our hands creating such works of art that blow the student body and staff out of the water. This year the effort and creativity was not the same. Was this because two classes had never experienced events like this? To solve this issue I think more examples, expectations, guidelines, and time should be implemented into planning competitions for homecoming and winterfest. As events are finally kicking back up I expect them to be bigger and better.
